I can’t help but recall last month when Apple decided to get rid of iTunes. If you’re unfamiliar with iTunes, it was a platform that allowed you to purchase and download music, podcasts, movies, TV shows, and audiobooks. It was a one-stop-shop that bundled all your favorite things together in one spot. Thankfully as a Windows user, I still have iTunes and my entire entertainment collection.
It was reported a couple of days ago by Bloomberg that they want to bundle its entertainment services into a paid subscription. The bundle will reportedly include Apple TV+, Music, and News+. There is no definitive price available for the bundle yet, but we will keep you informed as we find out more.
The current monthly prices of the separate services are:
- Music – $10
- News+ – $10
- TV+ – $5
I suppose Apple knew they had to remove ITune. Perhaps they knew that iTunes couldn’t continue on as it was. Bundling the services, to me, seems like bringing iTunes into the future with a new name. So, maybe the future does look a little brighter. It wouldn’t seem so bad to pay one monthly subscription for all of those services.
