Google Has Deleted Two Cryptocurrency Apps

Ehtereum Wallet and MetaMask have been deleted from the Google Play Store. Google cited its policy prohibiting cryptocurrency mining as the reason for the deletion.

Ethereum Wallet is a free app that increases the safety of cryptocurrency. The app protects your coins even if your phone is stolen or lost. It also locks access and allows you to retrieve your currency from another device.

MetaMask allows you to run Ethereum dApps right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node. It includes a secure identity vault and provides a user interface to manage your identities on different signs as well as sign blockchain transactions.

MetaMask appealed the deletion, but Google denied them. The company took to its Twitter account for support from the public. Many people who replied to MetaMasks Tweets were in favor of the company. It is entirely possible that Google made a mistake when deleting the app.
