This is news that is quite depressing for me. On my phone, all of my photos are automatically sent over to Google Photos. That’s a nice feature, which will soon be different. Starting on June 1st, Google will be ending the free Unlimited Storage plan for Google Photos.
When the change takes place, all users will have 15GB of free storage space – which is the default for all Google Accounts. Thankfully, all of your old photos won’t count towards the new data cap. If you have lots of photos, you might want to upload them before then.
If you need more storage then that, you can look at Google One. The service has many options, which start a $2 a month for 100GB of storage. However, think of this: most photos don’t take up much space. Google’s free 15GB of storage is plenty of space for photos.
