When you buy something like a Ring Video Doorbell, you expect your privacy to be safe. The doorbells are a great way to protect your home, but that doesn’t mean they are completely safe.
Back in November, Security Firm Dojo Bullguard had a vulnerability that leaked Wi-Fi login information. Thankfully, this was fixed before the news was made public.
However, it looks another problem has arisen – This time, it looks like the company was actually giving police a Map of video doorbells. If a unit was partnered with Ring, they had a map that provided which street the doorbell was installed.
While this doesn’t seem like much of a problem, it is. Sure, this information can help prevent and fight crime. However, it’s still an invasion of privacy – especially when Ring wasn’t giving out a warning to customers.
