The fact that Amazon Alexa didn’t support Spanish from the start is sort of strange – An estimated 41 million US residents speak Spanish.
It’s now four years after the first Echo Dot release, and we are finally getting support. If your device has Alexa built-in, you can most likely speak Spanish to it now.
To use the language, it must first be enabled in the Amazon Alexa mobile app. After that, all of the standard Alexa features should work when you talk in Spanish. Alongside this announcement, developers can also build skills for Spanish speaking customers.
What’s even cooler is Alexa will work in a “multilingual” mode. If you talk in English, it will respond in English. If you speak Spanish, it will automatically reply in Spanish.
